this post is going to be a tad different than my usual recipe posts because today I am going to tell you guys a little bit about one of my low-key favorite superfoods at the moment. TURMERIC. I've always used this spice when making curry dishes and stir fry's but recently I've been trying new warm breakfasts because FALL IS HERE - and my body is craving warm foods. if you know me at all you know I don't enjoy boring food and I love to keep things interesting as well as super healthy. a regular bowl of oatmeal was not going to cut it. I found a bunch of youtubers recently that were adding turmeric into their morning oatmeal and I was so inspired to try it out. (and I am V pleased I did)
so before I give you all the deets about how to make that beautiful orange bowl of oats lemme just give you some info on turmeric and why you should be incorporating it into your diet every single day -
HEALTH BENEFITS:
Ingredients:
combine oats, almond milk, water, coconut sugar and pumpkin spice into a pot and cook over medium heat stirring every minute. cook oats to desired consistency. place your cooked oats in a bowl, add the turmeric and maca powder, stir in well. now top your oats off with banana pumpkin seeds and coconut. I also added a little bit of extra pumpkin spice and a splash of extra almond milk.
ENJOY xo
